Little Wonder Learning Center
Little Wonder Learning Center prioritizes the health and safety of our students, employees, parents, and the community at large. The NJ Department of Children and Families is continuing to monitor the spread of the COVID-19 Coronavirus and its impact on children, families, our staff and our partner providers, throughout the state. The federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and NJ Department of Health are providing ongoing guidance and direction regarding necessary precautions and action plans. Little Wonder Learning Center's health and safety measures meet and exceed guidelines recommended by experts.
Screening & Entrance Protocols
• Screening of all staff and children prior to entry, including a temperature check
• Any adult or child with a temperature of 100 or above will not be allowed into the building
• All parents will need to fill out a COVID questionnaire daily, confirming that the child does not have any COVID symptoms and has not been in contact with a person with COVID
• Classes use separate entrances to ensure no mingling of groups
• Hands will be washed upon entry
• Parents and other visitors will remain in the waiting are of the facility
• No-contact process for checking children in and out of school using a QR code to scan on a phone
• Disposable shoe covering will be required for all staff and visitors
• All children 2 and over will wear crocs once at the center
Social Distancing
• Teachers and students remain within their pod
• Maximum of 10 children per class
• Separate bathroom assigned for each group
• Outdoor times staggered to ensure no mingling of pods
• All enrichment on pause until further notice
• Classes separated into groups when possible, particularly during meal times
• Distancing of sleeping cots, placing children head to toe
Cleaning & Sanitizing
• Daily cleaning and disinfecting of all areas, particularly those with high touch use
• HEPA air purifier with UV light for each class
• Frequent toy rotation
• Increased hand washing
• Hand sanitizer and sanitizing wipes provided for outdoor use
• Sanitizing bin for used toys in each classroom
• No toys allowed from home and other hard to clean items removed from classrooms
• Individualized frequently used items
Communication
• Training of staff in the new protocols
• Weekly testing of ALL staff
PPE
• Masks worn at all times by staff
• Children over 2 encouraged to wear masks provided by the LWLC
• Gloves will be used when handling food and when changing diapers
• Infant staff will wear long sleeved medical coats when holding babies
• Infant staff will wear mask and shield
Containment Plan
• All sick children and staff isolated immediately and unable to return to school without testing and medical guidance
• Coordinate with health officials for possible classroom or school closureParents will be notified immediately of potential exposure
